If Only You Believe By Doran Roggio As we
enter 2007, it is obvious that we are ushering in a need for a more
well-defined understanding of the 'Law of Attraction.' Financial problems,
family dissent, violent crime, all these things make it difficult for many to
perceive and believe in something better. Although they may desire a
prosperous lifestyle, one free from worry, for some it is difficult to
envision a life without impoverishment, poor health and problems. It can be
difficult to sense the exhilaration one would feel from an experience if one
had only known hurt, pain and disappointment. Difficult as it may be to
perceive, YOU can control your destiny through your own thoughts and
emotions. What you focus on daily is what is manifested in your life. Just as
the Master of the Universe is a creator, you, too, are a creator. Your
experiences are the mirror of your creative thoughts. In essence, what you
wish for will be your reality. That is a simple statement and it is the plain
simple truth, a natural law that cannot be denied any more than you can deny
gravity without suffering it's consequences. Does that mean it is easy to
apply the 'Law of Attraction’? While it is not complicated to understand, it
may not be easy to apply. No one wants to hear that they are the cause of
their own troubles. How many times we hear the comment, "You brought it
on yourself". Little did we realize how much truth that statement holds. One must look inward honestly.
Ask yourself what kinds of thoughts dominate your mind? I have an
acquaintance that is a very negative person. This individual spends the
better portion of her life depressed and complaining. I tried one time to
speak with her about altering her thinking to a more positive outlook. I
tried to convince her to stop dwelling on the world's problems, or her
disappointments and look at life more optimistically. The gist of her reply
to my urging was that she deliberately thought negative so that she would not
be disappointed. I could not make her understand that it was the negative
thinking that actually caused the experiences and the defeats. If my acquaintance would have
believed and made an attempt to focus on positive, definitive thoughts,
defining her desires and expecting them to be delivered, she would have taken
her first steps to applying the ‘Law of Attraction.’ Only you can make the
difference. How you perceive your life is how your life will be. When pondering on the 'Law of
Attraction' and how it's principals can be explained, I find myself thinking
about children's stories. In fairy tales and kid's movies the hero/heroine is
taught that their wishes can come true if they meet certain criteria. The character is taught to
close their eyes and wish very hard for the thing or experience they desire. Then
the child is told to have faith, that they must believe for their wish to
come true. Lo and behold the desired thing is then realized. This does not always happen at
first try. The character is told that they may not believe wholeheartedly or
perhaps they are not wishing (desiring) hard enough. The fable generally ends
with the hero/heroine realizing the fulfillment of their wish after they have
learned to desire and believe with all their might. These children's stories which
convey that wishes do come true through a strong desire coupled with a deep
faith in its reality are actually teaching children the concept of the 'Law
of Attraction'. The child is learning first to make a wish (have strong
desires), then to believe in its conception (faith) and close their eyes and
imagine (experience it's culmination). All the old spiritual books
teach that we should become like children. Some of us in moving from
childhood into adulthood become disbelievers. We lose that ability to trust
in the strength of our dreams and the faith in the universe to carry them
out. No longer do we believe that wishes do come true or that we have control
over our destiny. The 'Law of Attraction' exists
whether we believe it or not. What you think and feel in your mind and heart
determines what you experience in your life. If you focus your thoughts on
negativism and pessimism daily the 'Law of Attraction' can only mirror the
same elements in your experiences. If you find yourself in a pool of despair,
experiencing one trauma after another it is time to look inward and readjust
your thoughts. You are in the drivers seat. You can change your experiences. Give your desires strength.
Set deadlines. Have unbreakable faith that you have set in motion the
attainment of your dreams. Close your eyes and imagine the results of your
desire. If that is difficult for you, ask others to share feelings on
attaining their goals. Then imagine feeling that way yourself. Wishes do come true. You are
the creator of your destiny. But you must BELIEVE. If you have not done so
yet, watch the movie, "The Secret". Yes, wishes do come true if
only you BELIEVE. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Copyright
